CURLY SEW lets you get your Geek on – via your kids!

There are many cool things in life – being a Parent, Vespas, sledding down a ruddy steep incline…

There are also many uber-cool things in life – 8-bit remix music, Fezzes… and people with a genuine passion for what they do.

And when those people use that passion to try to make a living for themselves in this horses arse of an Economy that we currently live in, we should all be seeking out these people, helping them, encouraging them – showing the world what a true sence of community can be all about.

One such person that really caught my eye recently was brought to my attention by a GamerDads community member @Chilemad on one of his Twitter “Follow Fridays” – his wife Kate (@CurleySew on Twitter).

Fezzes are cool… so are Geeky Waistcoats…

And this is exactly what Kate offers – homemade Waistcoats and Dresses made from just about any material/pattern she can find – and as you can see, it’s the particularly nerdy stuff that really caught my eye.

And this is why @CurleySew is my small business recommendation of the week – Kate takes the thing she loves to do and does something great with it. She uses her skill to support her family and she seems to have a good time doing it – and I love that.

So please do go and check out the http://www.facebook.com/CurleySew page and show your support!

I contacted Kate and asked her to describe her venture in her own words:

Curley Sew sells children’s clothes, handmade by a working at home Mum.

Many retro fabrics are available – just search “CURLEY SEW” on Facebook or @CurleySew on Twitter for more information.

Fans take “Sonic” live action movie into their own hands…

FILMS

They said it couldn’t be done. They said it was one stage too far…

But the Spiky Blue Hedgehog is about to finally star in in his first live action movie… created by the fans… For the fans…

OK – to get the “live action” element, they had to pool from the human characters and cities as seen in the SONIC ADVENTURE series (and you all know how I feel about those), but to be honest – if the movie turns out like this preview… I really don’t mind!

I particularly enjoyed the portrayal of Dr Robotnik…

More info on the video can be found below – go check them out:

The intention of making this film was for it to be a spec film, with the primary purpose being to show how a Sonic the Hedgehog film, in a live action environment, can be executed.
